So, the house upstate is almost done. I have made more phone calls with regards to emptying my grandmother's apt and the information is staggering. I have an appointment for a free estimate on Thursday, so hopefully that will unstagger things.

As quoted on the phone, they charge by the pound -
29cents/lb
approx 1000lbs per room
= $1450 to haul this stuff away and junk it
75/hr for 3 men
Total: $2050

ACK!!!!!!

Well, I sincerely don't think I will be junking 5000lbs of stuff, and if I really am - well, I'll need to find an alternative. I am thinking of having a moving sale, and inviting people from the building upstairs to take what they want.
Cheep as free!

Anyway, this is only one of the issues I have. I also just got quoted to fix the well in the house upstate. $1500 to $1700 bucks, depending on how deep they need to go. sigh. So, either the buyer will fix it with a $500 contribution from me/the estate, or we can the deal and she gets her deposit back.

Out of anger, I am tempted to junk the deal, and pay to fix the house myself, then raise the price of the house next year by 25% or so.

I thought I was seeing the light... but apparently it's not so.

On the cooler side, literally, The Boy's uncle hopefully will be meeting us this weekend to actually LOOK at my AC unit and figure out my options.
