Mar. 15th, 2004 04:00 pmThe piece of art I saw on South Street this weekend has been on my mind all day... I still don't know the price, but I can't seem to put this to rest.
Now, we all know how it is to be shopping and "it" calls to us, and says "own me! I'm perfect!" but that could be something like a set of wine glasses, or a vintage comic book, or THE perfect outfit (perhaps a $1500 leather bustier that lifts AND separates)....
Anyway... this bust IS calling to me... and I am seriously thinking about buying it, regardless of price... well, not completely regardless, but my "max" is willing to be high...
BUT -- my dilemma --
This bust makes me cry... it gives me such emotion... it's a catharsis...
Should one own something that brings them to tears each time they view it? Or perhaps, should you keep such an item in plain view, or maybe just keep it in a less-traveled room in the house, so you don't need to be tormented by it... versus keeping it in your bedroom so you can wake up to it every morning, or have it watch over you at night?
Of course, after a while, the crying my cease, but the emotional reaction could become warmer...
Thanks for the input!
