Half full? Half empty?
Aug. 31st, 2004 01:01 pmToday is the first day of school, and I am taking my 2 hour break right now. I have had 2 classes so far, and 2 to go. Hmm... two seems to be a recurring theme. If only I got two sandwiches for lunch...
Things seem to be okay now, I'm starting to think about rationing my time so I can do great this year. I feel like such a nerd, but my 3.6+ is really important to me... although I keep having these thoughts of:
"School is retarded. I just know I'm gonna suck as a sport psychologist, how can I have faith in my ability to help another athlete when I was a failure at my own sport? I'm just gonna end up working at Wawa as a night manager, with big hair, and a can of Aquanet behind the counter - just in case."
But on the flip side, my first two classes went well. We'll see how the next two are... then tomorrow, I have my first class of the fifth class I'm taking.
Blickity Blah.
Oh an even brighter side of things, tomorrow I see The Boy again. We went to a wedding on Saturday - one of my former coworkers was getting hitched. They make a really cute couple. My only issue with the ceremony was the amount of God. It was like subliminal advertising...
"We bless the food we are about to receive
"::down one octave:: (Lord Jesus Christ)
"and it's in your name that we celebrate the joining of this Man and Woman
"::down one octave:: (Lord Jesus Christ)
"yadda yadda
"::down one octave:: (Lord Jesus Christ)"
I don't know the shtick, but really - every other sentence was down an octave and in verbal parantheses...
Ah well. I said Amen with the rest of them, it's their thing, I'm respectful. Actually, it was the parents' thing - if the bride and groom had their way originally, it would have been done 4 months ago in front of a justice of the peace.
Anyway... back to The Boy... before we left for the night, he asked me to dance. It was super sweet. Man, he does everything right. :)
Bugger... I need to return for my 2pm class. It's History and Systems of Psychology... I can imagine it now...
"We start with the Chapter 1
"::down one octave:: (Lord Sigmund Freud)
"And at first they named it well, by way of Psyche
"::down one octave:: (Lord Sigmung Freud)
"And slew they the goats, yay. And placed they the bits, in little pots
"::down one octave:: (Lord Sigmund Freud)
"Here endeth the lesson"
