So I get this email from St. John's University, for their alumni newsletter...
I never went there. Duh. How the hell did I get on this list?
On a whim, I select "click here" to unsubscribe.
The name that I was unsubscribing was to my correct email address... but the NAME OF THE ALUMNI:
Was one of the tenants in my building.
WTF???!!!!
I called the alumni office, planning on telling them that this was unacceptable, to add email addys associated with street addresses without confirmation was horrid and disgusting. I know the tenant doesn't know that email addy, so I can't imagine how else they would have autosubscribed me.
I got voicemail, and hung up.
